To show a floor or roof above as a dashed line, in the view’s Properties set the Underlay parameter to the level that the floor or roof is on. Then use the Linework tool to trace over the element.
Set the Underlay parameter back to None when you are finish.
What you will find is that the linework is associated with the element which you traced over, and when the element is modified the linework will update automatically
