You’ll notice that after you link in a Point Cloud file and put your cursor over it that it gets a pre-selection highlight.
This highlighting can be somewhat distracting, and since it loses its RGB colour it also makes it hard to distinguish features in the point cloud.
Since the point cloud is a link, on your Modify expanded panel try turning off the Select Links setting for a highlight free day.
