With Families which have multiple sides, it can be ambiguous about which parameters relate to which sides.
Take the countertop example in the image. It has both Width and Depth parameters for sides 1 and 2.
Nested within the countertop family is an Annotation Family made using Symbolic Lines set to <Invisible Lines>. The correct sides can now be graphically identified, easily and quickly.
